Praia de Baixo - Pinheira
Praia da Pinheira has two main beaches, the De Baixo and the De Cima beach, which are separated by the Morro da Toca.

Praia de Baixo is located on the extreme south of a bay with 7km extension that has the Ponta do Papagaio on the north.

During the summer it is visited mostly by families due to its extremely calm waters. This condition also makes it good for sports like swimming, sailing, windsurfing, etc. Walking is one of the most popular activities of the place not only because of the extension of the beach, but also because it has firm sand.

It has good touristic infrastructure thanks to its proximity with the village. There are bars, restaurants, bed and breakfasts, hotels, etc. a few meters from the water and some of this also with a view of it.

The Pinheira village was born in this beach because of its fishing qualities. Some of these are a closed bay where to anchor and protect boats, calm waters from where to leave with smaller boats and that it is protected of the south winds, that can be annoying, specially in the winter times.

Traditional fishing is one of the main activities on the beach, that has dozens of boats, not only anchored, but also on the beach. The Tainha (Mullet) fishing season is a festivity for the region. The amount of fishes caught between may and june is incredible, making the beach a really busy place.
