| Praia de Cima - Pinheira |
|
Praia de Cima has a special beauty. Located to the east of Praia de Baixo, it has an extension of 700mt and is limited by the Morro da Toca and the Ponta das Andorinhas (Swallow's Point). It has little waves and that's why it is visited by families with small children. The environment is a mixture of beach, traditional fishing and rural, specially on the Ponta das Andorinhas where cows and horses can be seen. Apart from the beautiful view, Praia de Cima offers places for walking, small rock and sand beaches and points of rocks. One nice walk that can be made from Praia de Cima is by the trail that takes to the end of the Ponta das Andorinhas. This point enters the sea for several hundred meters and has at its end enormous rocks where natural swimming pool are formed depending on the tide. Amongst other options of sports, diving can be practiced in the Ponta das Andorinhas. Praia de Cima is facing north which protects it from the south wind. When blowing hard this wind can be annoying, so this makes this beach the best option on the region. For the ones who like to eat or drink something with a view of the ocean Praia de Cima is a great place. There are at least two bars that offer a good variety of food and drinks apart from shade and a beautiful view. Other options of restaurants can be found a few meters away. For the ones that want to stay close to the beach, there are several guesthouses around and some of them with a view of the ocean. See the interactive map below locating Praia de Cima. |
